Download and license are separate
Kaidera OS is free to download. Functionality is controlled by license state rather than download gating. This lets the same installer serve trial, individual, team, and enterprise paths.
What a license controls
A license can control the number of projects, workers, teams, enabled harnesses, feature flags, support level, update channel, and enterprise capabilities assigned to the installation or account.
Activation
The activation path is designed around an account or license grant associated with an installation. The app should be able to verify an issued grant and continue operating inside the allowed policy window.
Offline behavior
The licensing design allows a signed grant to be verified locally for a grace period. When connectivity returns, the app can refresh account state, release information, and entitlement status.
Free floor
The product direction keeps a free floor so operators can download and evaluate the app, while higher capacity, team features, support, and enterprise controls are unlocked through license policy.
Enterprise paths
Enterprise licensing can support stronger account controls, support terms, governed update channels, dedicated provider arrangements, and operating requirements that are not needed for a small local install.
What to check if access looks wrong
Check the license key or account sign-in, installation identity, network reachability to the license service, local clock, edition assignment, and the feature limit being hit. Treat provider access and license access as separate issues.
